7 Reasons Why I Apply Foundation with My Fingers
28.06.2022You can probably tell that a lot of people are reacting to the title of this blog post by the way it is written. The thought of applying foundation with your fingers at first glance is a bit scary.
This was the same reaction I felt when I saw my favorite beauty YouTubers do this. This technique was something that I cringed at the first time I saw. After seeing how a few people applied their foundations this way, including several makeup artists, I was inspired to give it a try. #whydidiwait
You shouldn’t apply foundation with your fingers! Well…
- To warm the foundation, rub it between your fingers to melt it into the skin.
- Fingers can apply just the right amount pressure to massage the product.
- Fingers can reach places that a sponge or brush might not be able, such as between your eyebrows and the curves of your nose.
This method doesn’t cause any foundation buildup or caking. Everything gets wiped off or massaged in.
- I can achieve flawless coverage with no buildup or caking, something I couldn’t do with my sponge or brush.
- I use less product if I apply it with my fingertips
- It’s quick and easy!
Applying foundation with fingers is my favorite way to apply it. This gives me a flawless skin-like finish, which I couldn’t achieve with my sponge. This method works with different foundations. Lightweight foundations work best with your fingers, while thicker foundations work better with your fingers. My Clinique Beyond Perfecting Concealer + Foundation also works well with your fingers, regardless of its thickness.
My Maybelline Fit me Hydrate + Smooth and my e.l.f. have been blended with my fingers so far. Cosmetics Flawless Finish Foundation, and my L’Oreal Pro-Glow all work wonderfully using this technique. However, I had to try it again with my Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless.
How do I apply foundation with my fingers?
I put a small amount of foundation on my fingertips, then rub my fingers together to warm it. Next, I lightly press my hands all over my face to adhere the foundation to my skin. Next, I gently massage the foundation into my skin using circular and swiping motions. I will blend any remaining foundation into my neck.
Tip: I add a few drops of my Beauty Creations Primer oil to my foundation before warming it between my hands. It makes foundation blend perfectly and gives my skin a radiant, healthy glow.
