Nicolas Ghesquiere is a serious player when it comes to Louis Vuitton’s locations for cruise shows. From the abandoned TWA Flight Center at JFK Airport to Rio de Janeiro’s Nitero Museum, the French designer has taken his runways all over the world. Ghesquiere’s Cruise 2023 show at Louis Vuitton on Thursday night was the highlight. Perfect timing was key for the stunning sunset view at San Diego’s Salk Institute. This Brutalist biological research center was designed by Louis Kahn and Dr. Jonas Salk in partnership. The guest of honour was not the celebrity

Ghesquiere was not disrespectful of the VIPs at the front, but he most treasured the company of someone or something. He told Vogue that “the sun was the guest of honor at the show. The elements are welcome.”

A family reunion was held on the front row

Although Judd Apatow might have stayed home, his wife, actress muse Leslie Mann and their daughters Iris, Maude and Mann didn’t need him as they were the most fashionable family on the front row. They all wore Louis Vuitton. Mann’s gold trousers sparkled in the sun, while Maude (star on Euphoria) and her up-and coming sister Iris wore short hemlines that showed off their knee-high leather boots.

The Apatows weren’t the only celebrity in attendance. Lea Seydoux, a long-time friend of the house, was there as well as Bridgerton’s Phoebe Dynevor, and Renata Reinsve, The Worst Person In the World. Deepika Padukone was the brand’s first Indian ambassador.

The runway was taken by storm by Olympians

Lous, the Yakuza and Julia Nobis were among the models that paraded down the runway. Also included were Sasha Pivovarova and Julia Pivovarova, fashion week news. Lauren Wasser, a double amputee, was the star of the runway. She has raised awareness about toxic shock syndrome for many years. The model wore head-to-toe metallics and a silver coat with shorts that showed off her gold prosthetic legs.
