What are the pros and cons of getting curly bangs?

Sims says curly bangs give off a trendy vibe regardless of hairstyle. The stylist says that you can wear your hair up, down, or in a bun with curly bangs. It will still look great. Everett also mentions that curly bangs can be a great way of changing the shape and style of your hair.

You have many options to achieve curly bangs. You can also have straight hair with shaggy bangs or curtain bangs. Everett prefers full- or voluminous curly bangs.

“I love it when curly peeps use their bangs to add volume to their tops. As an example, take Yara Shahidi’s hair at 51st NAACP Image Awards.”

Everett recommends starting with loose bangs if you’re unsure whether curly bangs are for you or not. This will allow you to decide if you like the look or if you want to add hair to your bangs to make them more fuller. Or, you can keep your bangs short so you can blend them into your hair.

Sims warns that you should be careful if you do decide to straighten your hair. According to Sims, styling your hair can cause your bangs to be too long above your eyelids. This could be a problem depending on how long you cut them.

Do natural hair should be cut wet or dry?

Everyone experiences shrinkage differently with curly hair. Some people prefer their hair to be cut wet while others prefer it to dry. You can blow dry your hair while you get a trim but this is not a good idea for curly bangs.

Everett shared a non-negotiable about this look: “Bangs should be cut longer than you think they should be, and bangs should only ever be cut when hair is curly.”

Also, take it slow when you are tying your bangs. Keep in mind, that cutting bangs when your hair’s curly is better than when it is straight.

Curly Bangs work for all textures?

Yes, curly bangs can be achieved for all hair types. Everett points out that hair types 4 and 5 can have different styles of bangs. You can achieve a variety of looks with the kinky-curly texture. If you don’t want to cut your hair permanently, there are many options to make faux bangs.

Everett states, “I love bangs made from twist outs or longer hair pinched into bangs with afro puffs or other updos.” Bangs can update any afro. Everett states that a framed ‘fro can look great with bangs.

Which length is best for curly bangs?

Sims suggests that curly bangs should be cut at the tip of your nose, but not below the bridge. This depends on the curl type. Sims explains that bangs cut higher than the bridge of the nostril tend to be too short as they dry out.

What do I need to know about styling and maintaining curly bangs?

You have curly bangs. Now what? Sims says that you want your curls to be luscious and defined. Flawless by Gabrielle Union Definitive Curl Cream is a great way to lengthen curls and maintain a natural hold without any crunch. “Smashed curly bangs are not a good idea.”

Everett says, “I always start any curly hairstyle on wet hair.” Start the process by using a moisturizing leave-in conditioner. Taliah Waajid’s Shea-Coco Condition Daily Conditioner with Coconut Oil and Shea Butter is great for adding moisture to your hair.

It’s important to take care of your curls after work. This will prevent any manipulation or breakage. Everett says to shake the hair and remove the pins in the morning. Carol’s Daughter Hairmilk Refresher Spray is a great way to get your next day’s hair loose.
