Hollywood’s 10 Most In-Demand Items of 2022 are All Owned by Hollywood, and They’re Soon to Be All Around

It’s amazing to see how social media can convince people that they will die without a $2350 bag.  Seriously, just take a look on any TikTok video that features the Balenciaga Le Cagole bag as the biggest ‘It bag’ of the year. You’ll see overly enthusiastic comments praising how they cannot live another day without one. Dramatic? Sure. That’s the power and reach of an “It” item.

The hottest ‘It” items for the past two years were unfortunately hand sanitizer and Evolvetogether facial masks. These items are still necessary in 2022. However, Bella Hadid appears to have a lot of super-cool pieces that she has in her bulk (which is what all of the Internet considers extremely cool).

You’ve seen it all on Instagram: the Emma Brewin hat, but there are many other items in Devon Lee Carlson’s closet that will take over. Here are 10 pieces that you need to know about.

Balenciaga Le Cagole Bag

This is 2022’s Balenciaga City bag. The City bag was the ultimate in cool. Naturally, the Olsen twins continue to wear their beloved bags to this day. Rebag has seen an increase in searches for the City bags, and The Real Real recently featured the style. Nearly all the available ones are now considered “Editor’s Picks”. The Y2K trend is still a big hit. Balenciaga Le Cagole, a modern version of the City, includes studs and embossed leather as well as extra-long fringe zipper details. It’s a smaller, more compact hobo bag that still has the City’s best features. The compact, heart-shaped mirror is also a great addition.

Kendall Jenner paired hers with 818 Tequila. Alexa Demie has one in neon green, sparkly silver and a matching necklace. Kim Kardashian also wore one in Balenciaga’s campaign while taking a selfie, of course. TikTok claims that they would sacrifice their first baby to have one.

Airpod Apple Max Headphones

Surprisingly the next most popular ‘It’ item in 2022 is not another designer bag, or designer anything, but rather a piece wireless bluetooth tech. The Airpod Apple Max Headphones by Apple are extremely popular right now. Numerous unboxing videos have been viewed millions of times on TikTok. Sarah Jessica Parker wore one of these headphones recently, as did every girl who has done fit checks via social media. They are very well made and I can attest to their quality. They are my favorite accessory (and most surprising).

Emma Brewin’s famous faux fur bucket-hat is perhaps the most comfortable of all ‘It’ products. The hats of Emma Brewin have been worn by almost everyone on your style moodboard, including Bella Hadid and Miley Cyrus. It is much easier to find someone who has worn the hat than it is to find someone who hasn’t.

EmRata seems to have one in every color. This is exactly what I want to be as an Emma Brewin fangirl. Is there another accessory that looks like an ‘It?’ accessory, but is it also a warm hug wrapped in a piece of cotton candy? I’ll wait. Brewin’s Instagram stories, which feature her studio in England where every hat is handmade by her, are just too beautiful to ignore.

Miu Miu Ballet Flat

It’s time to forget your Tumblr password, and get Black Swan on: balletcore is back. Ballet flats are making a comeback, even better than the TikTok audio trending or wrap-around skirts. Miu Miu ballet slippers are a particular favorite. The pink pair with the gingham wrap-around ribbon and the power they had on me in 2017 will be a memory I will never forget. Although it was my first purchase of a designer item from Net-a-Porter’s famous end-of-year sale, I haven’t worn them much in recent years.

They were my first love and I was acutely aware of the fact that something had changed. Although I am almost exclusively a platform shoe girl, I cannot stop wearing my Miu Miu pink ballet flats. Every time I wear them, I get more than a few comments from strangers and on the Internet. Miu Miu’s latest fall shoe featured a satin version its ballet flat, paired with chunky leg warmers. This shoe style is a viral hit thanks to the mini skirt in the spring/summer collection.

Tory Burch Picnic Plaid silk Claire McCardell dress

Adidas Sambas

My dad had sent me a link from Adidas Sambas. He wanted to know if I could help him find a pair of shoes for his best friend. She has worn them since the 1970s, but they are no longer in stock. I quickly replied, “Blame Bella Hadid.”

For some time, Hadid has been bringing the sneaker back and most recently wore them in a referee-esque outfit at Milan Fashion Week. Some Internet commentators have stated that if they ever see it again they will measure their eyes. This is the piece that inspired thousands of tweets, TikTok DIY recreations and celebrity covers. We can all and should take the advice of the miniskirt’s PRist. It’s everywhere…

But also nowhere. The skirt has sold out, to no one’s surprise. However, DIY TikTokers have the right idea: it’s easy to recreate. If you feel a little Miu Miu miniskirt fatigue, there are many amazing ultamini options available online.
