Kent Wang sent customers an email recently announcing that they are discontinuing their Goodyear-welted footwear. They note that they will continue producing sneakers but the Goodyear-welted footwear takes up too much space at their warehouse.

The shoes come in two lines: benchgrade (starting at $295) and handgrade (starting at $395). It is difficult to determine quality, but the shoes come with features that are uncommon or unheard at their respective price points. These include channeled soles, which hide the stitching on the sole, and a beveled waist for the benchgrade shoes.

The handgrade shoes feature a fiddleback waist. They are made in Asia but stylistically, they resemble something you would expect from a Northamptonshire manufacturer, especially in the sleek, but not-too-pointy last.

For the closeout sale, the shoes will not be restocked when sold and are discounted by $50. This is a rare opportunity to purchase shoes that were once worth $525.
