Levi’s Latest Collaboration Invites You to Get Wider
10.01.2022Levi’s partners with another brand to bring you denim that is completely different from what’s available at your local store. A Levi’s collaboration doesn’t hesitate to mix things up, whether that’s hand-embroidered florals and boldly printed motifs. The latest collaboration with the iconic Japanese brand Beams is also surprising. The world-famous jeans have gone without embellishments this time and are now more generous than expected.
The Levi’s 501 is still the most popular canvas for collaborations. But big jeans are on the rise and Levi’s seems to have gotten the memo. It’s important to note that the Japanese menswear has maintained a slouchy, loose fit. Beams is an excellent partner to dive into wide-legged waters. This is especially due to its reputation for giving Americana with a Japanese twist. This is the third collaboration between the labels.
The collection includes jeans, trucker jackets and a pocket shirt–all timeless staples that Levi’s has left behind. The jeans have a baggy version a classic straight-leg silhouette. Both the trucker and tee have been stretched to new, boxy proportions. All denim pieces have limited-edition back patches. The collaboration is available exclusively via the Levi’s app, and selected Beams retailers. Act quickly!
Since a while, the pendulum swing from skinny-to-slouch has been in motion. Big Pants was the first to get denim the baggy treatment. All things pre-Y2K have been gaining popularity with Gen-Z, ultra-wide jeans included. However, there are practical benefits as well.
The relaxed fit allows for more legroom and gives you a flattering silhouette. These may seem a little wider than usual, but they are far from being too wide. These are artfully relaxed. Japan has quietly influenced and elevated American fashion for decades. The latest example of this excellent cross-country collaboration is Levi’s x Beams.
