Stern and Loiz will be sharing their favorite makeup trends, as well as the essential products that you need to recreate each one at home. Continue scrolling
Trend #1: Smoldering eyeliner
Stern predicted that smoldering eyes would reign supreme in 2021 with mask-wearing continuing.
She explains that a classic, wet-lined eye look can make you feel more put together. Jillian Dempsey’s Khol Eyeliners ($20) are our favorite. They are clean and come in all colors.

Trend #2: Colored Mascara
Stern said, “With all eyes on the eyes, I expect lots of playfulness when bright-colored mascaras or Technicolor eyelashes”
There are no limits to color and formula. If you want to build your sea legs, Stern suggests using one coat of colored mascara, followed by a stroke with black or brown. This layering technique will give you a more subtle take on the trend.
Stern says that she is a fan of L’Oreal’s cobalt and deep-sea blue options.

Trend #3: Sky-High Lashes
Do you see a pattern? It was undoubtedly 2021, the year of all eyes and lashes. Stern said that the more flutter you have, the better.
As far as treatments that are worth the investment, she cites lash extensions (rather than lash-lifts) as a rising trend. Stern says that this is an easy and affordable way to achieve a great look without requiring a lot of effort. “Look for local technicians and read customer reviews!”
There are many at-home options available if you don’t have the budget for a professional lash-lift. Surratt Beauty’s Noir lash Tint ($50) may seem odd, but it will give your longest fringe ever from a tube. Falsies and customizable gossamers won’t go out of fashion.

Trend #4: Stained Lip Colour
Long-lasting stains are the best when it comes to lip products. Look for something bold and durable.
“Long-wear lipstick has never been more important in our beauty bag!” Stern emphasizes. Stern emphasizes that you should apply a few coats of your favorite stain. Blot between each application. This will stain your lips and make it possible to wear bold colors without worrying about the stain getting all over your face. Armani Beauty’s Lip Maestro range is my favorite. The range of colors is amazing, and the formula feels incredible on your lips.”

Trend #5: The resurgence of the early 2000s
Loiz says that the early 2000s makeup was back in 2021 with full, feathery eyebrows and soft, chocolate brown lips.
It is important to keep it light and fresh. Loiz suggests that you fill in your eyebrows with light upward strokes using a thin pencil. This will give your eyebrows a natural look and mimic your natural hairs. She loves the Camille Ariane pencil below.
Next, make a chocolate brown lip by drawing a line on your lips with a flesh-tone lipstick. Propa Beauty offers a variety of neutral brown lipsticks to suit all skin tones.

Trend #6: ‘New’ Skin
Loiz reported that glowing skin was the top beauty trend for fall 2020.
She says that “Rocking your true and authentic skin is the best way to go. A triple cleanse is my favorite way to create a clear base. Use a mild cleanser on the skin and gently massage it in. Apply a facial scrub to the cleanser. Next, focus on the nose, forehead, and chin. Again, don’t rinse! Apply a detox mask to your skin, which will remove impurities and leave it softened and hydrated.”
Let the products sit for five minutes. Rinse with cool water and dry your skin. Apply a face cream to your skin, then apply a moisturizer. You can also massage the oil into your skin. This will help increase blood flow and absorb it. This will give you the most beautiful skin you have ever seen. You don’t need makeup!
