Which part of your beauty routine is the most time-consuming?

The beauty routine is consuming lots of time sometimes, let’s see which part is the longest for me.

It was makeup once upon a time! My hair is now the most important part of my beauty/getting ready routine.

There are just A LOT of steps involved. It is exhausting! The most involved part is the washing and conditioning, because I work out pretty much every day now, so my scalp gets super sweaty and oily and requires…attention. Plus, on top of that, I have pretty bad seasonal allergies, so when I go outside, my hair absorbs pollen, dust, ash from local wildfires, or whatever other allergens are floating around outside on any given day. Before I go to bed, I must wash my hair. Otherwise, my hair is a mess.

Funny thing is…I don’t spend nearly as much time styling my hair as I spend cleaning it. I can do a half-decent style with a large barrel curling iron in five minutes. Or a messy braid or bun in about five minutes. It takes me far less time to get my hair ready for “out into the wild” than when I was in my 20s or 30s. This is because I have long since accepted my natural waves and don’t want to fight with them.

Talking about makeup thing, it doesn’t take much time now – just some skincare, sun protector and a touch of mascara.

What about you?
